Stories from the grill.

Notes from Pony's wood-fire kitchen, terrace tables and group dining room in The Rocks.

Wood-fire grill

Fire at the Centre of the Room

Our open ironbark grill gives steaks, seafood and seasonal vegetables the smoky depth that defines Pony.

Our kitchen is built around flame. The ironbark grill sits in view, shaping steaks, seafood and vegetables with heat, smoke and restraint.

That approach is why guests return for rib eye, sirloin, oysters, kangaroo skewers and the unmistakable character of wood-fired cooking in The Rocks.

Lunch and laneway dining

A Kendall Lane Lunch

Weekend lunch brings Pony's terrace, historic laneway setting and wood-fired menu into an easy afternoon rhythm.

Lunch at Pony works best when the table settles in: oysters, grilled chicken salad, sesame seared tuna with soba noodles, flatbread and a glass from the list.

The terrace and Kendall Lane setting keep the room connected to The Rocks, with a relaxed view of the precinct while the grill keeps moving inside.

Group dining

Groups Around the Grill

From dinner for friends to terrace hire, Pony is set up for shared plates, steak cuts and celebrations.

Our group menus are built for a generous table: shared starters, wood-fired steaks, seasonal sides and a dining room with enough energy for a proper occasion.

Smaller groups can reserve online, while larger celebrations can enquire about the terrace or exclusive venue hire.
